The Original Black Tequila
Agave (Metl) forged in the shadows. Deathmetl is the premium black tequila born of the abyss. Bold, smooth, and obsidian-dark—an unapologetic evolution of tequila craftsmanship. The darkness, distilled. We've worked hard in the distillery ensuring that the 'darkness' of this spirit doesn't compromise the integrity of the agave. The result is a high-altitude tequila that looks as good as it tastes.
Metl: The Obsidian Resurrection
In the ancient tongue of the Aztecs, the agave was known as Metl. To craft this spirit, the Metl must endure a brutal end—crushed, charred, and distilled until only its darkest essence remains. We've embraced the darkness, crafting a black tequila as deep as a low-tuned riff and as complex as a technical solo. This isn't just a drink; it's the visceral soul of the agave, resurrected in black.
Structural Smoothness
By harmonizing Acacia-derived depth with the silky weight of glycerin, this spirit achieves a "structural smoothness" that elevates the Blue Weber agave. We rely on botanical symmetry to define the palate, focusing on refined texture rather than relying on heavy syrups to soften the finish.
The Vision: Forging a New Frequency
For too long, the world of agave has been stuck in a binary loop: the clinical, transparent bite of Blanco or the predictable amber of Reposado. We felt a missing frequency in the spectrum—a spirit that captures the raw, sun-drenched energy of the desert but wears the obsidian cloak of the night. We set out to create a spirit that looks like a heavy metal anthem but sips like a velvet symphony.
The Alchemy: Sun-Grown Spirit, Earth Stained Depth
Deathmetl isn't just a drink; it's a textural revolution. At the heart of our blend is Blue Weber Agave, harvested at peak ripeness to ensure that unmistakable earthy, citrus-forward backbone shines through. To find our "darkness," we looked to Black Catechu, which is a natural herbal extract derived from the acacia tree (Acacia catechu), native to Southeast Asia. It provides a deep, structural "spine" and a hauntingly beautiful obsidian hue.
The Innovation: The Triple-Stage Refinement
Black Catechu is a force of nature—primal, tannic, and deep. To master its bracing edge without losing its "spine," we developed a proprietary triple-stage refinement process that bypasses the need for heavy syrups or unstable oils.- The Spine: We start with an infusion of Black Catechu, providing the spirit with its striking obsidian hue and a deep, structural wood-tannin profile.
- The Bond: We introduce a micro-infusion of Natural Acacia Resin (Gum Arabic). This "Acacia-on-Acacia" bond encapsulates the sharp tannins, replacing the bitter edge with a luxurious, unctuous velvet weight.
- The Polish: Finally, the spirit is finished with a micro-polishing of pure glycerin. This creates a bridge between the intense wood and the sweet heart of the agave, ensuring a silken delivery and a tempered finish.
Let's raise some hell.

Tasting Notes
- The Look: Opaque obsidian; very slow, thick "legs" on the glass.
- The Entry: Soft and welcoming, the glycerin provides an immediate velvet foundation that primes the palate to fully receive the rich, barrel-aged complexity.
- The Mid-Palate: Heavy and unctuous (from the Gum). Notes of roasted agave, dark chocolate, and cedar.
- The "Masking" Effect: Long and "tempered." The bitterness of the Catechu is there, but it's "polite." It leaves the mouth feeling clean but moisturized, rather than stripped dry.
